That seems false. Same way they don’t talk about the Obama kids, the Biden kids, etc. they don’t need to ever bring it up. National news does that for them. Seems weird to come here and make that up imo.

I overlapped with Chelsea at Sidwell and they downplayed it as much as possible. There's plenty to dislike about Sidwell but I don't believe that their admissions spiel emphasizes Chelsea. Not a chance.

I’m the poster whose wife saw an advanced copy. She didn’t go to Sidwell but someone she works with did and said the upper school principal in the book is based on a former principal and is portrayed positively but that a lot of parents are made to look really bad

Prep is great. Curtis Sittenfeld did go to Groton but I do not think she taught at STA? She's from Ohio and I don't think she's ever lived in the DMV.

She was a writer in residence at STA and taught for a year while she was writing Prep. STA has a fellowship where a young writer/teacher lives in the dorm and teaches one class while having time to write.

My wife got an advanced publisher’s copy and this was on the first page. “Much of this story is true. Names have been changed to protect the innocent. And to keep the guilty guessing.

People who read Prep will read it. People who read Mom Daughter Show will read it. Moms in these top schools will read it. It’s not YA or literature, it’s a niche interest book

Is this YA? Or has the state of literature reached a point where something as on the nose as "make Wesley white again" is considered a credible plot point?

I hope this is YA. I expect YA to have this level of caricature and black-white thinking. It would be sad to see it continue bleeding into lit fic.
