And Harvard only offers a BA in CS, which is evidently inferior to a BS.

Total BS. Just showing up as you say and not doing any of the work gets you a F. I can share examples of classmates who only showed up, thought the class would be a piece of cake due to arrogance and ended up with a F on their transcript. You actually need to do the work and grind to get the A-.

The average GPA at Harvard and Yale is 3.7. Basically, this means if you show up you get an A- at Harvard. So this is not a grind achool. You can say “kids work really hard” but the floor appears to be an A- so really?

totally agree with South/Southeast comment - but very low name recognition in NYC or Northeast. Top level academics and peer to W&M, Villanova, and Northeastern in terms of educational quality and prestige - fine choice
