Thanks. That is not a very big list for a high school. They don’t offer AP Calculus BC or AP Physics or AP Chemistry? No AP Psychology? What about foreign language APs. Perhaps this is an incomplete list

Did you hear at the time when the lottery results came out, or beforehand?

the day the lottery results came out. (and, of course, they are actually posted the night before) It was our second choice (but barely) -- showed my kid's WL number at walls, admitted to Banneker, and then n/a or whatever term they use at the schools after that in our list.

Hmmm. At the end of the interview, the panel told us we would find out through myschooldc. The teacher emphasized it was the only way to find out "unfortunately."

It could be that the essay and interview weren't strong enough, so the rejections will all come through myschooldc. As far as your ambassador, it's possible he was placed on a waiting list for Banneker, got into Walls as his second choice, and then made the choice to go to Banneker once he came off the waitlist.

People who care should consult the current Banneker school profile, and the current Banneker student handbook, both available on the Banneker web site.

I can’t tell exactly what you’re trying to say, but if you’re claiming that IB students at Banneker can choose which classes to take HL and which to take SL, as is typical at IB schools, that’s false. The IB program at Banneker has a fixed curriculum. The only choice IB students get to make is French or Spanish (and they have to take either SL).

Just wondering what this 3 hours of homework looks like?

It varies. My kid is in the IB track. Some nights she has reading other nights it’s math or writing. FWIW it doesn't seem anymore homework than I had in HS.
