Here's the deal, Jan. Every pregnancy has the potential to kill or maim the woman who gestates it. EVERY. SINGLE. PREGNANCY.

Every single pregnancy is work. Women's bodies work to gestate those fetuses into people. It is unpaid labor that can kill the mother, cause her to miss out on months of work, cause her to be violently ill, cause her to lose a uterus, cause her to crack a tailbone, cause her to need her body to be sliced open through her abdomen. Never mind the work that beings once the baby is in the world.

So yes, when it comes down to it, the woman who is donating her body and labor to gestate a fetus into a baby gets to determine if she is willing to do that work and if she is willing to face the potentially hazardous consequences of doing that work. Every single time, it is HER prerogative. She has to be the willing actor in every pregnancy.

If that is your stance, then it would seem you take the extreme stance that contraception and IVF should be banned, yes?

I want a law that garnishes the wages of every baby daddy. As soon as it is born DNA test and automatic withdrawals from the man's paycheck.
