And all of it comes from white fragility.
Didn't know ushering my kids in while somebody was murdered and the shots rang out at the end of our block and watching the getaway car peal down my alley, multiple episodes of kids being shot within blocks from my house, a friend randomly punched on a DC bus, a person from my workplace being carjacked and murdered a year ago, contractor being carjacked at the end of my street 15 min before I was at the same light w/ my kids, a friend watching two guys pull guns on each other as she was getting out of her car to walk into her apt building, hearing gunshots ring out from assorted random drive by shootings, and on and on, is just "white fragility". PS, all of that is within the past year. I just had a conversation with a co-worker who lives in PG right outside the city where she said she hears gunshots nearly every day. Every. Day.
Let me guess - when some mass elementary school shooting is in the news, you will crow on and on about how the GOP is the reason we can't have "gun control" and "you can't blame evil on mental illness" but when it's local violent crime in our own city that we see and experience and hear, and disproportionately impacts POC, it's "white fragility". You'll empathize vocally with the trauma of some kid in another state who had to hide under their desk, but will not speak up vocally about kids in the city who lose their friends or family to gun violence.
Take your hypocrisy and shove it.
