Republicans won’t vote for a republican who acts like a democrat. Democrats won’t vote for a republican who acts like a democrat when there’s an actual democrat to vote for instead. Who is Hogan’s constituency? He doesn’t have one.
Me! I loved Hogan when he was governor and I will vote for him again.
so he can be the deciding vote for maga?

You can't vote for him again until 2026, which is the next gubernatorial election.
Also, everyone knows that people who identify themselves as "a moderate Democrat" on DCUM are actually Republicans. One example of "a female moderate democrat" is Bethany Mandel, who is neither moderate nor actually a Democrat.
I am actually a democrat! I voted for Obama and Biden and both Clintons. But Hogan is different - he did a great job running our state, he changed his mind about the purple line when he got more information (he said this- who else does this? A moderate!) I loved his reaction to Trump’s endorsement, too. I just like the guy and think he’s a reasonable adult who I’d be happy to represent me. Alsobrooks is a regular politician.
Well said. Three cheers for reasonable adult politicians! I'm from DC and we loved Tony Williams. Similarly, found Hogan to be a breath of fresh air.
As an alleged "Democrat" you are comfortable handing the Senate majority over to Republicans, very few who embrace Hogan's version of politics? Sure hand the Senate majority to the extreme right politicians who brought us TRUMP, Dobbs and other extreme policies. You either aren't a Democrat or aren't very aware of how politics work. Hogan will vote with the Democrats when it matters but in the grand scheme of things that doesn't matter: because extreme Republicans will be controlling the agenda and the Senate. It's really very simple.

There are lots of us in the middle and when there’s an actual human candidate who I feel represents my “purple” then I’m going to vote for him. When you start yelling about control of the senate blah blah I tune out just as quickly as I tune out the crazy republicans. I am a moderate democrat in MD voting for Hogan.

Stick a fork in his campaign.
What was the context? Did he mean "issue" like "topic"?
As in, "abortion can be an emotional topic, especially for women who have faced an unwanted pregnancy"
That doesnt sound so bad?
Hogan tolerated abortion rights in Maryland but doesn't think Marylanders should have a say in whether women in other states own their own bodies.
The word "emotional" is not the problem here.

BASH: Well, actually, because you brought it up again, before I go to immigration, you know that there is going to be a measure on the ballot that presumably you will be on too to make abortion rights a part of the Maryland Constitution.
What do you think about that?
HOGAN: Mm-hmm.
Well, I -- look, I understand why this is such an important and emotional issue for women across Maryland and across the country. This -- I already took a position on this bill. I said it wasn't really necessary. There's no threat to the protection of these rights in Maryland, where it's been -- it's already a law.
Voters have already weighed in on it. It's settled law on the decision.

+2. There are many of us, we just don’t want to engage in the exhausting back and forth about control of the Senate, the Supreme Court, etc. I think Hogan will be a great addition to the Senate, an adult moderate voice. We need more Hogans in Congress to help restore some functionality.
No, there aren't. Angela Alsobrooks will be an adult moderate voice, by the way; she's 53, and she's as middle-of-the-road as it gets.

I agree with everything you said, but I don't trust the rest of the Republicans. I'd vote for Hogan if he caucused with the Democrats.
