You could give me warm, home made bread, and call it done. I will happily eat that with a good quality SALTED butter at room temperature. Or give me focaccia and skip the butter.

Other things I enjoy:

Home made salsa (spicy), guacamole, and spinach artichoke dip with chips, or a few different flavors of hummus with pita or naan dippers

Samosas and pakoras

Summer rolls (not fried)

Good desserts - Panna cotta, boozy trifle, tiramisu, tres leches, etc. Or a really good chocolate chip cookie, straight out of the oven. Skip the cloyingly sweet, American buttercream based cakes. And for the love of god, don’t serve oatmeal raisin cookies at a gathering. The disappointment one feels when they bite into a cookie thinking chocolate and instead encounter raisins….

All the dips! Buff Chick Dip, French Onion Dip, Corn dip, queso, etc.

I never make these at home unless it's for a party so I always look forward to them!

I love pakoras and all such Indian fried snacks. Also samosas & chaat.
I love a good cheese board with nice accompaniments - fruit, mostarda, good bread, wine.
I also love warm gougeres with rose wine.
And puff pastry based snacks are good too - like baked with tapenade or pesto.

How are you seasoning them?

Who makes a bloomin' onion at home? I don't see how it could be made well at home, unless you have a deep fryer.

Roasted Veggies

Or plain veggies or any kind.
A healthier alternative to the typically heavy/rich appetizers.

I was going to say deviled eggs too!

QUESO! with chips and fresh salsa, yummmm

Little desserts in shot glasses

Grilled cheese bites with little cups of creamy tomato soup. Or garlic parmesan breadsticks with marinara dip. Pretty much anything incorporating bread and cheese!
