It is weird and disappointing. It also isn’t particularly accurate. My DS is going next year and the admitted students so far on the Instagram page aren’t very quirky at all and walking around campus the kids don’t look very quirky either.

Liberal arts college at a public school price. 6,700 undergrads vs the 17,000-74,000 undergrads around the country.

That's very attractive. After being lost in a huge student body---one of 350 in the lecture hall. That is worth the $.

We are a Hokie and a Wahoo and would love our son to go to W&M. In his field, with Robert Gates chancellor--it's the best public in VA for it.

Alum Patton Oswald gave the commencement speech last year.

Agree with PPs that my kids' experience is that wide range of interests and personalities at WM.

I'm a W&M alum whose DD got a cypher postcard yesterday. While it isn't her top choice, it's her best choice in the running and she knows she would be very happy here. Holding out hope for a different choice, but otherwise, I'll be back to the 'Burg in the fall.

DP you don’t understand, only parents can call their own children quirky if someone else calls them quirky it means they’re weird.

He is quoted: "My college career was waking up late, memorizing someone else's notes, doing bong hits, and going to soccer practice"

Complete WM stereotype from decades past. You can find every kind there. My sibling that is the biggest partier ever loved his time at WM. Played a sport there too. Definitely wasn't lacking in people like him.
