I'm talking about specifically the fact that there are people on social media posting that they are driving to Texas to shoot "illegals." This is not normal behavior of any sane human being. It could all be a big nothingburger but it only takes one unhinged person to cause serious problems.
This has the potential of being a Jan 6/Waco or just Santa and his convoy buddies pooping in buckets. Time will tell.
What problems exactly?
For ordinary people like me, I mean.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:300,000 people crossed the border into the US in the month of December alone. Do you find that concerning at all?
Hold up. What is your source? Abbott? Fox. Homeland Security says there were 269k "encounters" at the border in December 2023. An encounter is not the same as releasing them into the country. 2023 was the worst year for migrants coming into the country but your lying makes me dismiss what you have to say. What else are you lying about? The Republicans in Congress need to pass the Immigration Bill so the border can be closed. https://homeland.house.gov/2023/10/26/factsheet-final-fy23-numbers-show-worst-year-at-americas-borders-ever/

The people who know how to deal with it are being prevented from doing their jobs by the Governor of Texas.

I find it concerning and want the senate and the house to pass legislation now.
What are the republicans waiting for?
A reasonable proposal.
It has been made.”
Allowing 5,000 illegal immigrants into the country per day is not a "reasonable proposal" by any stretch of the imagination.![]()
The original GOP-sponsored HR-2 was reasonable and necessary.

They aren't allowed in to free range. They need to be processed for their asylum claims. Until the Congress authorizes more money to build shelter to house these people, what choice is there?
No - the BP has been clear that they don't need more money. They need the proposed legislation to pass. They need asylum standards to be MUCH higher. We don't need to house these people - they need to stay in Mexico and wait their turn.
Biden unilaterally made the standards for asylum basically anyone who claims it. He can unilaterally return it to the previous standard. He doesn't need to wait on legislation.

I am more concerned about the number of people getting in legally de jure (on TPS or similar) but being a great strain on social systems.
The quicker we bankrupt social systems the quicker we rebuild into a society of healthy, strong families and people.

+1. Plus, enforcement of existing laws which are now mostly ignored

They do not find it concerning at all. Because they know the plan is to ensure those 300,000 - and the other 6-9 million in the last 3 years - will all be given US Citizenship this summer, so they can all vote for Joe Biden in various swing states. That’s why they aren’t concerned.

Yes, it is always concerning, but what do you want anyone to do about it?
