SUVs and pick up trucks are always safer than a car in most deer and regular accidents. I actually witnessed a Prius hit a deer on Rt 9. The deer was launched by the wedged shaped car about 20 feet in the air. Then it landed in a Nissan windshield. Killing both Hispanics in the car. If you hit a deer with a SUV or truck you have less of a chance of it going airborne into another vehicle. Simple physics.

Yes, and SUVs and pickup trucks with MD and VA tags are the bane of my existence as a pedestrian in DC. Fine if you want to stay out in Loudon but please keep your car with huge blind zones out of the city where you are more likely to kill a pedestrian.

Such a whiner. Grow up.

Why won't Biden let folks that live outside of DC work from home?? You know. To help save the environment.

So much ignorance on this forum. You failed basic stats in high school, right?

I’ve been a VF rescue tech for 12 years and I’ve read about more kids dead in older 2dr Honda Civics than any other car. They are way, wayyyyyyy over represented in fatal crashes with teen drivers.

I drove my dad’s 2017 2 door civic for 9 months and it literally felt like it was going to fall apart while driving. I only drove it to and from work and rarely on the highway but hated it. Ironically my dad just recently hit a deer with it and only did relatively minor damage to the car. Big tuft of hair on the lights though.

My commuter is a 2023 Civic EX and for what it is- an economy sedan, I think it drives pretty awesome. It’s peppy, hugs the road and is comfortable.

As for Jeeps, been there done that. I like the older more utilitarian Jeeps. Not into Jeep sedans. I can’t speak to how the new ones drive and handle, but the reviews from the experts aren’t too favorable, nor are the reliability reports.

Gee, maybe it’s because the way they drive.

It’s *absolutely* the way they drive. They act like they’re in one of the Fast N Furious movies. So they crash more often. And those crashes expose the structural deficiencies within the car. Civics are designed to get good mileage and be somewhat reliable. They’re not designed to crash well.

I have no idea why people pay a premium for that garbage.

Without even knowing what you drive, I’d say the exact same thing about it - and be right.

All cars suck. Even yours. Because you chose poorly.
