There is no sibling preference at HB

Maybe not officially but it's curious how there are a number of kids with siblings who are concurrently attending H-B now (including from N Arlington schools). One even got in through the much more limited hs seat allotment.

Sure it can. Kids develop skills in elementary school and change as they become tweens.

The philosophies of the schools are polar opposites. ATS students should be rejected out of hand for spots at HBW.

I have a kid at HBW and at a neighborhood middle school and I don’t see much of a practical difference in terms of how their philosophies impact my kids’ educational experiences. So much of education these days is standardized so a school can’t really do its own thing.

DC applied only to IB program. I wonder if these will get released in the same alphabetical order as the lottery last week if they're now releasing results.

I just looked at last year's data, and making some assumptions it looks like maybe they went down ~100 or so spots on the waitlist? Not sure I'm right about this. Last year for 9th grade there were 352 applications, 130 spots, and 117 students are on the waitlist.

Same for Arlington Tech. Any realistic chance of coming off waitlist? At what number?

Same here. How far down do you think they might go on the waitlist?
