I would and did. DH hates to cook. I don't get it. He would order or pick up dinner every night of the week. However, he does a lot around the house - always on top of dishes, laundry, snow removal, leaf blowing, rides to sports and school, and groceries (other than for meals). I don't love to cook, but there are tradeoffs in a relationship, and taking on the role of the family cook has been fine. I outsource with chef-prepped meals that I just throw in the oven to heat for most weeknights. It's not a big deal for me.

So, my mind would jump there and think the man is neurodiverse, which creates a challenging relationship dynamic and then another whole host of issues if/when children were involved.

Yes, that would be my concern (and the ordering it all at once, that's weird).

My husband and I both had jobs when were younger where we worked all the time, and also travelled a lot - we both ate a lot of take-out. We are married with a kid now and still both work a lot, and we still eat more takeout than we should, but it turns out he is actually a decent cook.

I don't think Cookunity does Thai, pizza, etc. This sounds like someone who has a massive Doordash bill every month.

Silly reason to discount a guy

I dated a 34 year old guy who ate hot pockets every night. It didn’t work out. He’s still single.

IDK, DH started out this way. Single at 30 pretty much never cooked for himself. Always picked up his dinner. Sounds just like what Op said but DH had even less variety. DH did his 50% of cooking/grocery shopping once married. His cooking was basic, easy stuff. No complaints from me.

yikes, thankfully my DH didn't feel the same about a woman getting take out this much.

Being able to cook a meal is covered in Adulting-101. You must pass Adulting-101 to date me.

No. Someone who doesn't care about their health at all? No thanks.

If he is in shape no foul. It is actually stupidly expensive to cook for one person and sometimes depressing every night.

No. He maybe be a fine friend and good person, but this is not someone I would seek partnership with. This habit demonstrates that we are misaligned when it comes to budget/frugality, domestic skill development, and health.

I ate a lot of takeout and repeated meals when I was single. Subway or a lean cuisine for lunch every day, takeout from the same couple of places every night. I shared a small apartment and tiny kitchen with a couple of roommates and it was such a hassle. It wasn’t that I only wanted to eat those same things all the time, I was just lazy and it was easy to stick to a routine, cooking for one person seemed like a waste of time. Then I met my now-DH, who lived alone with a big kitchen, and he loved to cook. I learned how to cook myself, and now I make dinner almost every night for our family (3 kids).

I wouldn’t be phased by the take out, as long as he was willing to expand his horizons and was willing to eventually learn to cook at least occasionally!

Sure, if I didn’t have to eat what he ate if I didn’t want to. Also a 4 days old takeout is gross.

Yes. But every man knows its Taco Tuesdays.
