This is nuts that y'all are paying for a nanny during hours that she isn't working while the kids are at school. What a racket being a nanny is!

You’re lucky. SN nannies are commanding much more, especially those with experience

My nanny was legal to work but didn’t want to be paid on the books as she didn’t want to retire here.

You are bring very foolish because this can come back to bite you.

I have yet to hear a story of it coming back to bite someone except those running for office.

not the PP but that’s for live in. That’s $480 for a 40 hour week. No rent/utilities to pay.

Live in is for employer's benefit and illegal to deduct for rent and utilities.

In CCMD we pay 82k/52 -40 hours/weekly, all benefits including 15 days PTO, unlimited sickness, $420 healthcare stipend. We have demanding jobs and our nanny is top notch, we also hired through an agency which was costly but well worth it.

We live in Dallas- pay $650 a week - have nanny Tuesday - Friday 7-4.
2 kids- both in school- more like 1 kid as the oldest is 16- youngest 8… basically keep her year round for summers when kids home. She does house chores, grocery shop- runs them around.

There is a range but if you like your nanny and want her to stay, pay her top of the range. Even if you offered less when she was hired, raise it to the highest rate for your area, if you think she is a gem and want to keep her.
