Seems short-sighted.
If Trump wants to advocate for Medicare for All I will support it too. Why in the world should I care who supports it or
whether they are hypocrites because they criticized the same thing in the past?
Cheerleading for one political party or the other in lieu of advocating for policies that you support is childish.

Of course its Legal. It one of the rare things Trump did right. The US shouldn't literally sell out the country to foreign owners!
Do we need foreign investors in the US? Does the US want the opportunity to invest in other places? What about free trade?
