So approximately twice a month your husband needs around 40 minutes to himself and was trying to do so in a way that wouldn't aggravate you.

Years ago my husband had a very challenging job but his office was only 10 minutes from our house. The ride was too short to decompress so he’d often just park for 20 minutes or so and listen to music.

I crying my car. I hold it in at home so my kid doesn’t see how profoundly worried I am about them. Now it’s gotten to be so much that I’ve started crying at work too. Luckily my coworkers are understanding. But the car is the best place to cry. I also like sitting in my car outside my house and listening to the radio and scrolling on my phone. My kid is special needs and home life is rough.

This. It’s not weird at all. If I was tracking my husband (insert eyeroll) and saw him parked in the Giant parking lot for half an hour I’d be like “Ohhh he does that too”.

Do you have kids? What is your usual routine when he walks in the door? Do the kids (or dog) get handed over to him so you can finish dinner? Is he expected to power through until the kids go to bed?

This is natural, because you’ve likely also been working/caretaking all day and also want 30 minutes to decompress, and at least he’s had the benefit of alone time during a commute.

But he feels guilty (or it will start a fight) if he walks in the door and asks for downtime immediately.

Why not change your schedule so that M/W he can go sit in his parking lot, or go to the gym, or whatever, and T/Th he comes home right away and you get 30 minutes to scroll or take a walk or whatever while he picks up the reins?

I never heard of anyone tracking their spouse unless you were suspecting something. What else has seemed off? Track the money.

He is trying not to bring work home which is being considerate.

Sometimes if I need to type an email I I will pull into a parking lot to do so. Frequently I just read, shop, or watch some porn to veg out for a couple of minutes before getting back on road.

What is going on in your marriage? Why would you track him? Do you suspect infidelity, drug use, etc. or it is just your anxiety out of control?

Are you tracking him bc you have been suspicious of other things he has been doing too?

You don’t need to track him for dinner. Adjust so it’s ready shortly after he is home. Don’t be such a control freak

My ex recording us having fights, make up arguments, my emotional outbursts and more. One time I was even trying to seduce him, he turned that in too!
