Does it mean he’ll overlook Musk’s antisemitism when he makes antisemitic statements? Or isn’t he just saying that this is a welcome move by X and - whatever else Musk might say - this one move to suspend people who use these phrases is a good thing?

But if you're on the younger side, I can confirm that Jews were absolutely not considered white until around twenty years ago, when being white became a bad thing. As you can see from the comment you responded to, Jews are whatever people deem to be a negative. Jews might might not have been considered "people of color" (that term is a relatively new one), but they were considered "other" than white.

This is not accurate. Jews in America essentially started to be considered white after the Holocaust, when people began to see overt antisemitism as something they maybe ought to set aside, and by the time of the civil rights era, they easily joined white flight out of cities into the suburbs. Twenty years ago was... 2003! You don't think Jews were considered white by then?

I know they weren't. I'm Jewish myself. I remember very well when the change happened. After 9/11, there was a period of Islamophobia followed by an over-correction in the form of "white people bad, non-white people good". That was when I noticed that suddenly everyone was seeing me as white, but in the same negative way that they used to treat me as other than white.

Jews are overwhelmingly democrats. I think 90%. The democrats are the ones who don't care about illegal immigrants and asylum seekers because they think they will eventually turn into more votes.
