The costumes, the candy, the idiocy of it all happening on a weekday, the unpredictable weather for an outdoor event, figuring out the timing, the social stress of kids figuring out who trick or treat with, etc. I love doing kids birthdays, family holidays, the 4th of July, planning family vacations. I get into the first day and last day of school, and I love the day to day of parenting and getting to watch my kids grow up. But I hate Halloween.
I never say it out loud but the truth is I'm SO HAPPY that I now have 364 days before I have to do it again.
Anyone else?
💯 OP. The social stress is real. DD’s friend got sick at the last minute and the third girl bailed so I was scrambling to find Plan C. I just hate Halloween!
This is so ridiculous. Why not just take her around the neighborhood by yourself and call it a night? You are creating drama and social stress for yourself.

It must suck to hate everything.

I bet you love sucking the joy out of all holidays for those of us having a good time! If you don't enjoy Christmas then stay by yourself and stop trying to make other people as miserable as you.
You sound like lovely, open-minded person![]()
