I'm not comfortable staying alone with two preschoolers in a pretty isolated cabin with no cell phone reception and want to stay home, but because we're well past the cancellation deadline, we'll be out over $1000, which is substantial for us. What would you do?

Option one: spend the money and have a decent weekend at home
Option two- spend the money and have a bad weekend away.
You should learn option 3 - don’t be so dependent on your husband.
Laughable. I'm not dependent on him. We frequently travel without him, even overseas - have since my eldest was a newborn. We've lived on our own for 9-12 months at a time. I'm not comfortable in an isolated cabin without cell phone cell reception.
And your husband would have been tough enough to ward off the bad guys?

+1
We regularly take our kids backpacking/backcountry camping to place without cell service.
OP here. As do we. But DH is always with us.

Anonymous wrote:“Camping alone.” I thought you meant a tent. In a cabin, you’re probably fine.
