I had devastating breaks ups at that age.

I’m glad I wasn’t on the international stage while it was happening. With intense pressure. And a terrible family and probably she had a lack of friends.

I had friends, stability in school, goals, family, anonymity, and it was all sooo hard for me. Didn’t need an aboriton, which was in the mix for her.

One b/up at age 20, saddened me for 9 months.

One at 22, saddened me even deeper for a few months.

JT is unlikeable in my opinion and I think probably hurt her a lot. I also think he is classless discussing having slept with her for clout on a radio show.

I think pretty much any 20yo guy, particularly a rising pop star, would react this way. And I don't think it makes them a jerk TBH.

It sounds like it was just one more way the people in her life didn’t think about her as a person with wants/needs/desires too.

She could have afforded two full time nannies who would raise it well but she was used to being controlled by everyone around her. She never thought for herself. Poor girl. So much talent.

Who cares?

Britney is a time bomb and she will go off - in terms of self destruction. It's tragic but it's also boring.

No one wants to watch a wasted 40 something in a bikini dancing with knives.

If she did stuff for other people. ANY other people in the world, she would warrant attention. But she doesn't.

Idk- David and Victoria Beckham got unexpectedly pregnant in their early twenties. He genuinely loved her and was thrilled. I’m not saying people in their early twenties are generally stable enough to have kids, but they’re an example of a decent high profile couple who loved each other and made it work.

I mean, for certain people, emotional distress can be a triggering event. It can contribute, but I doubt it "caused" her illness.

I agree. But she makes him out to be a jerk about it. And on top of his cheating scandal and rumored infidelity, his reputation could use some rehabilitation.

It seems like he was a jerk boyfriend. I think he was shrewd and used Britney to propel himself to stardom. It worked. Lots of college-aged young adults have abortions.

I was living with a friend who grew up with one of his band mates while JT and Britney were dating. She was the one who pursued him, aggressively. Always thought that was funny.
It’s unfortunate that she had to deal with the pregnancy and him. It was probably for the best for everyone though.
