We toured the campus--girls are beautiful, boys are "bros." My son loves this scene so he was in heaven. My daughter was turned off. the wealth was crazy-so many designer purses and $300 sneakers on the moms on the tour and on girls walking around. My kids attend the Cathedral schools so we're no strangers to wealth or preppiness but this was next level. Am I missing something? We literally saw ONE south Asian girl the entire day and she was prepped out (or as my daughter said "white-washed"). Was everyone else hiding in their dorms?
You are extremely wealthy and are bashing others for their purses and sneakers? If you were worried about diversity you would have sent your kids to public.
The DC privates actually aren't very full of conspicuous consumption. My high school kids fit right in with their Old Navy wardrobes. And they're used to 45-50% diversity. I think Sidwell is now close to 60%. GDS may be even higher. Cathedral schools are just under 50%.

If your kids attend the Cathedral schools you have zero room to talk.
Uh, NCS is only 54% white. STA is 57% white.
And nearly 100 percent privileged.
Not to mention that if youâre sending your kids there and having to look at second tier schools for college youâre either doing something wrong or your kids are. Pretty sad.
Pathetic attempt at being an ass. So your kid is only applying to top 20 schools? Good luck with that plan.

And the problem is?
You donât see a problem with an all white school? I mean Iâm not even sure if OPs assessment is correct but try to understand the world is not all white and POCs May be surprised when a university still is

I understand what OPâs daughter means. Itâs the type of white at WF that stands out, not the percentage. Itâs country club, Tory Burch flats, blond highlights, mom and grammy were both debutantes, really rich southern white. Some of the other schools name checked in this chat are just as white when looking at percentages on paper, but the white students at those schools have pink hair and nose rings. This is neither a slam on WF or a credit to the other schools, btw - just an observation.
And Iâve known both very bright WF grads and boring, dim ones. YMMV.
I have a child at Wake and have yet to meet anyone who fits this stereotype.
And I have a family member there who fits this exactly.
And you are clearly jealous of that family
