Not really. It is primarily being opened to alleviate crowding in the DCC. So it will effectively be a DCC school and could even be included in the DCC.
When did Walter Johnson HS join the DCC?
What are you referring to? This thread is about Woodard, which is primarily being opened to alleviate overcrowding in the DCC. MCPS has not conducted the boundary study for Woodward yet and while they have hinted that it will be it’s own cluster, nothing is final until they do the study and it’s still possible that they include it in the DCC.
You mean "primarily being opened to alleviate overcrowding at both WJ and the DCC"
This. But now with Whitman and BCC thrown in for good measure.
Whitman is not being considered as part of the boundary study as far as I know. The BCC cluster is being included because MCPS is planning to build a new ES near the BCC YMCA (actually convert the former Lycee Rochambeau campus which is MCPS owned) with the purpose to use it to alleviate ES overcrowding in both WJ and BCC clusters. It will have a split articulation.

The MCPS planning documents focused on DCC overcrowding with WJ as a secondary priority.
