These are everywhere right now. I honestly don’t understand why. They are nice but not very exciting and not flattering on most.

I’m “only” 5’7” but have the same issue. I often have to buy tall pants and occasionally hem them but usually they’re fine. Totally the opposite of when I was a teen (90s) and had to hem everything, especially jeans.

I’m an inch shorter and even I have to buy pants in Tall lately. Otherwise they are above the ankles and look terrible.

I’m 5’4” and don’t even have long legs and recently bought jeans in Tall for the same reason.

Ha, I'm 5'3" and I love the cropped trend because they fit me like regular length, and I no longer have to get jeans hemmed.

Amen! I usually have to go straight from the store to the seamstress. I have no sympathy for tall people when it comes to clothes.

I'm the first PP, the "ha I'm 5'3" one, and I personally did not mean to minimize fit struggles for tall people -- I was just offering the short-girl perspective on cropped silhouettes. To the different PP who asked where I have found "cropped" jeans that fit me like a regular length -- cropped Mother, Agolde, and Citizens of Humanity all fit me like this. I realize these are $$$$, but I'm a jeans person, so I splurge on jeans and get my money's worth given PPW.

Abercrombie, though, makes great budget-friendly jeans, and they come in extra short, short, regular, and tall. Both the extra short and short work on me (the former being a tiny bit cropped, but work great with sneakers). I happen to like the "90's high rise", which are a simple straight jean, but they have other styles as well.

I wore a lot of cropped silhouettes last fall (not crop tops—there is a difference!) with straight or wide jeans plus ankle boots…I plan to continue but also will be investing in a longer fall coat (ordered a few tailored Sherpa/fleece versions to try) and maybe even a pair of tall boots, which I haven’t worn in several seasons now. Would pair them with sweater dresses, skirts and maybe jeans if I can figure out a more updated version than the blazer and riding boot combo of yesteryear (never looked good on me).

The trend is for knit “lady cardigans,” kind of Chanel vibes with a cropped fit, pockets and standout buttons. I have mixed feelings, and they are definitely EVERYWHERE.

NP and I had no idea about this trend! I thought 90s minimalism was still in.

I’m doing straight and wide leg jeans, crewneck sweaters in neutral colors of various weights, minimal jewelry, and white sneakers or boots (all the boots are cut slightly above the ankle with sorta chunky soles but not a full lug- I did lug sole the first time around in the 90s but it doesn’t suit me now).
