Women's rights is a pretty basic "test".

I know it’s hard for you to understand but (a) women’s rights isn’t limited to abortion and (b) democrats did nothing for women’s rights re abortion because they refused to codify it when they could. But again it doesn’t matter if I fail the test and whether the test is an easy one. What matters is that the Democratic Party lost my vote. I’m part of a trend. Democrats will have to contend with this trend either by finding new voters to replace us, or by trying to understand where we are coming from.

If you aren't happy with what Democrats do for women, you're going to be very disappointed by the Republicans.

As soon as we get the votes in Congress it will happen.

The 15-week ban is what Youngkin will admit to wanting in public because he thinks there’s some sort of national consensus forming around that timeline (there’s not) - same as Lindsay Graham who lost the US Senate in 2022 for the Republicans when he said they would push for a national 15-week ban. But in private he has said he will sign any legislation that comes from a Republican majority legislature and that will not just be 15 weeks.

15 weeks is about right and I do think there is a national consensus around that especially if the alternative is conception or 6 weeks. 15 weeks is also the law in most Euro countries.
