I keep seeing this perspective and I don't quite get since. Since a movie was made with some kind of right wing backing (I don't know the actual politics) now human trafficking doesn't exist? The swing from people caring about human trafficking to now denying it exists because of a movie is bizarre.
These kids were run aways as are most teens who go missing. The movie had nothing to do with this scenario at all.

I live in Silver Spring and this is all true.
Frustrating because our neighborhood used to be an affordable middle lass neighborhood. Now, it’s a bit of a mess.
What part of SS? I live in SS near Kensington and it's not at all like this.

Silver Spring is huge. Yes there are parts with high poverty but if you think it’s a 3rd world country you’ve clearly never been to one.
There is an obsessed poster who thinks if they continue to repeat that Montgomery County and MCPS are total hellscapes that will make it true and she will convince others of that fact. They are the typical Internet poster who is frequently wrong but never in doubt.
