Weird - my kid had a lower number on the waitlist but didn't get off the waitlist until after the #25 kid. I wonder why they are going out of order...

Fwiw, my daughter would choose AT over HB. The lack of structure isn’t a good fit for her, but the STEM focus and smaller class sizes are.

This reminds me all the people who assert that no one would choose Campbell over Arlington Traditional. Completely different schools!

Yeah, I have a kid at HB and while I doubt I'll have to make the choice, I would definitely choose AT for my other kid over HB. He is extremely stem-oriented and a school like AT (science-focused without the intensity of TJ) would be perfect for him. I really hope he gets in.


I hope so too. Sounds like a perfect fit. And if not, the transition to the home school is seamless. (Because these are programs, students are always technically students of their home schools. It’s actually a decent arrangement.)

+1. It is all about the best fit school for the child, and different children will have different interests and different foci. It is great that options exist.
