Endowments are a good indicator of student satisfaction. Wisconsin and Michigan are similarly sized institutions. Wisconsin’s endowment is approx. 3.5 billion. Michigan’s endowment is over 17 billion. So you tell me, where are the “passionate” graduates of Wisconsin when it comes to giving back?
Sounds like OP is considering the wrong schools. Texas and Texas A&M have the largest endowments by far, so are clearly the best.

Madison is much better than Ann Arbor? How so?
np. lake.
So the lake makes Madison, “ far superior?” That’s it? Not very compelling evidence.

Dumb and wrong.
Don’t like being compared to MSU? It’s not as good? They’re both land grant schools.

Michigan students really should be better looking given they are a lot richer than wisco students

Have you been to both?

I do have a random question about winter weather. I saw that just a couple years ago Wisconsin had a daytime high of -26 and Michigan set a record of -18 below zero. Do kids actually go to class when it gets that cold?
I grew up in the South and can deal with heat. That kind of cold would just crush me. I'm sure the kids would be fine. Just curious.
Yes, the kids still go to class. Individual professors may cancel, but when I was at UMich, the school NEVER closed due to weather.

Seriously?
Do you disagree?

That’s a big part of their legendary arrogance. Many in-state students at private high schools who could afford to go to college anywhere see no reason to leave the state.
In worldwide rankings, Michigan is a peer of many of those schools you just mentioned. I too am from Michigan and the arrogance of their graduates is more of a reflection of the inferiority complex suffered by the graduates of its instate sports rival. Why go out of state when you have one of the top universities in the world close by?
One of the top universities in the world made me laugh. Thanks for that.
