I went to BC.
90% of students get 3 years housing and live off campus Junior year (which we loved.)
10% get 4 years- the super smart, AHANA, athletes, etc.

Freshman yr- you live in a typical 2 person dorm room on Newton or Upper campus.

Sophomore yr- you live in a 4 or 6 person suite on lower campus (or unlucky lottery #s mean you're still on Upper campus.

Junior year- everyone lives of campus in apartments on/near Commonwealth Ave or near Cleveland Circle. Such a fun year, full of parties. The BC bus makes a circle through this area to bring kids to campus.

Senior year- back on lower campus near football stadium in nicer apartments with full kitchens. typically skip meal plan

Going abroad is no problem. Kids easily do a roommate swap. Meaning, 1 of my roommates went abroad 1st semester, and found a Junior (who went abroad 2nd semester) to take her place in our campus apartment. Easy.

Back when my siblings attended, incoming freshmen with higher test scores and GPA’s were given 4 years. So the really smart ones got 4 years. Not sure if that is still the case.

Top applicants, athletes, nursing students and those that need special accommodations is my understanding. No one I've come across has had a problem finding housing for junior year.

no skin in the game but I would say that the housing situation at BC is pretty good compared to many others. It's very common that schools are not providing 4 years of on campus housing
