I have just taken up jogging this year. 45yo woman. I do 4 miles every other day. Including warm up and cool down it takes about 50-60 minutes so I guess it is about 3-4 hours per week. I have honestly never felt better and one of the main reasons I like it is that I can do it anywhere, anytime - don’t have to go to the gym or yoga studio or anything. That has really helped me cut out excuses.

What is your family situation after work?

Can you exercise in the morning? That's the only way I was able to do it while children were young.

You know why I take fitness seriously? Because what is the point of being on this Earth if you are going to be like everyone else? A well built physique is a status symbol. It reflects you worked hard for it, no money can buy it, not even DCUM money. You cannot borrow it, you cannot inherit it, you cannot steal it. You cannot hold onto it without constant work. It shows discipline, it shows self respect, it shows patience, work ethic and passion. That is why I do what I do with my time.

I understand your passion for fitness, and it's commendable how you prioritize your health and well-being. Having a well-built physique is indeed a testament to hard work, discipline, and self-respect. However, it's essential to remember that everyone's journey is unique, and life's demands can sometimes make it challenging to find time for ourselves.

For those who struggle to incorporate fitness into their busy lives, it's not always about making excuses. Sometimes, it's a matter of finding the right balance and figuring out how to fit an exercise routine. As for me, I never skip my upper butt workout and always try to fit it into my hectic schedule. Small steps and gradual progress can still lead to significant improvements in health and fitness.

Rather than judging others, let's encourage and support them on their fitness journey. Understanding and empathy go a long way in helping people find the motivation and determination to make positive changes.

You sound super sweet. You must be new here.

It probably takes time away from TV or scrolling on my phone or chores. I have more energy and sleep better so I make it a priority. Even if I feel really tired on a day I am scheduled to go I will go and say just run a mile. If that’s all I do that’s all I do. Most of the time once I am there I do more. Got that tip here and it works.

What’s keeping you from getting to bed on time?

Do it before work.

This. I get up early and workout. It’s tough at first but you start feeling great and reaping the rewards of it. Now when I’m on vacation and use it as a forced recovery, I miss it and get back to my routine immediately when I get home. It becomes a habit, like part of my morning routine.

One hour minimum every day. 46 yr old female. Most is higher intensity, running, peloton, swimming, plus one or two hours a week of walking which I do while working or waiting for kids activities. I do aim for 3 30 min strength work outs as well.

I work out most days of the week for 30-45 minutes, (weights on some days, running or HIIT on others). I also have a semi active job (teaching) and move around a lot on a daily basis. When I retire or have more time as my kids get older I will work out for longer. It’s one of my favorite activities, I just don’t have as much time to devote to it as I would like.
