So was one of the people stressing about SOL scores the poster asking about how SOL scores affect private school admissions?

so what was the point of waiting until the end of July then? Somebody here said they were waiting for state averages. eyeroll all the way on aps.

Last year someone said that Virginia is validating the questions and that sometimes a question may get thrown out. This can impact the scores. So we have to wait for validation of the scores before APS will release the data.

I’m pretty sure that each X or checkmark represent one question.

The SOLs are adaptive so there is not one set of questions that everyone answers. If a student misses some questions, they will be given easier ones which are not weighted as highly. So two students could miss the same number of questions but get different scores depending on whether they answered harder or easier questions.


If two kids both get all questions correct would they have the same questions?

Yes. On the top right of the score report there is a bar graph showing your child's score relative to the minimum and maximum.
