I don't see anything to adore here and I definitely don't think that rich people hold on to millions and billions by being cheap about coffee . I get that they are giving away most of their wealth and that is admirable, but spending probably more than the coffee shop worker makes in a year to fly to and stay at this fancy resort, while then complaining to someone who has no ability to set prices and is probably struggling with increased prices due to inflation, seems distasteful and out of touch. Maybe it's just them pandering to folks like you who admire it and don't think that most people retain their extreme wealth by exploiting other people.

I think it's really weird she griped on the cost of the cup at a luxury resort. Look around lady, this isn't the 7-11!! I am umc and make my own coffee at home. I buy dunkins beans in bulk at wholesale club. Dunkins beans is more than 4/pound. She could get maxwell house ground for 4 a pound though. I've stayed in luxury resorts once in a while and would never gripe at the cost or blink an eye at the high priced menu.
My sister in law got engaged years and years ago at tavern in the green (NYC old well known
establishment). When she came back, she was scandalized that they charged her for refills on her diet coke. I just did a discreet eye roll.

$4 for a cup of coffee at a ritzy resort isn’t that bad. Yes, $4 for plain coffee is a lot, but I stay at places that aren’t nearly as nice as this $2000 per night Resort and coffee is about the same price. If the Buffets want cheap coffee, maybe they should stay at a Hampton Inn next time? Their coffee is delicious and it’s free.

It's a ripoff because you can make much better coffee yourself for 25 cents. We do gourmet coffee at home in a $300 machine...had the machine for over 7 years still going strong. Once machine was paid off a cup of coffee costs me ~$0.25. And it's often better than anything I can purchase outside (even in a town known for excellent coffee). So while it's a nice treat to get a cup while out, it is a waste of money/luxury splurge
