So I love my son’s name but I don’t think it suits him well. It is unique in that most people never heard of it but it is a British surname so it’s not off the wall. My middle son has a better personality that could have rocked it. My oldest son has the personality of Brick from the Middle (not as extreme as Sheldon from Big Bang), he’s head in the clouds absent minded professor. He’s not good at correcting people when they say his name wrong or ask him to repeat his name. A more assertive personality would be better. He’s a 180 from my husband and I so we never imagined having a kid so different than us. We told him he could go by his middle name, a solid common name, whenever he’d like but he said he’s good.

I like all their names. My oldest is Henry. My dad’s name is Henry and I always wanted to name my son after him. It was really uncommon the whole time I was growing up. A few years before I had my first, it blew up and became crazy common. But, I still wanted to name my son after my dad, so I went with it any way. There are always a few other Henrys, but I don’t mind. It’s worth it when I see “Big Henry” and “Little Henry” together.

Yes, I would have gone for a longer name for my first. I feel I played it “safe” and while I like the name, I’ve worried less about what people will think with my second and third child. There are similar names to my first child’s that I wish we’d gone for.

My kids names are Henry and Caroline. I still like them. I don’t mind that they’re popular. Neither will feel embarrassed by their names as an adult.

Wouldn't change DD's name. She is Erin. I like that it is a well-known name but not really popular. Clearly a girls name but not super girly. Also was named for a family friend and I like that association. It suits her very well.
