That was dangerous, unlawful, and could have been deadly.
Melatonin. This isn’t heroin. You’re insane

Find another soccer team.
Depending on parents reaction, share with current soccer team coach why you are leaving.

Did you actually read the post?? They didn’t give him one melatonin. Of course that’s fine. They gave him a PLATE without him knowing. He took so much he was ill through the next day. They may not have realized what they were doing was dangerous, but it was.
And either way they need to know that playing a prank on the kid that is the odd man out is absolutely cruel.
I’m a new poster and while I completely understand what an awful position you are in I think this is dangerous and the parents need to know. I would definitely want to know if it was my son.
Well, no, even one melatonin isn’t fine, honestly. It’s BETTER than a plateful, but they would have no idea if he takes something that could interact with it. That was super dumb of them, and they need an adult to come down hard so that they understand.

Bare minimum is that he need to get off that soccer team and find another one. He’s not safe around those kids and should never be around them.
If you can do that then I might consider not contacting the other parents.
Ugh…
He has practice tomorrow and has told me he’s going to pretend it didn’t happen. I haven’t gotten a chance to really talk to DH about it but I do think we are done with this soccer team.
He’s played since he was 6 but this is a newer team he started in last year.

That’s not the point. It’s the principle and it is wrong.
