We have the best schools in the country.
No, that honor goes to Florida. As much as DCUM loves to cast aspersions on FL, they have the best public schools in the US, with NJ and Mass coming in 2nd and 3rd. Virginia is #11. At one time, a couple of decades ago, VA was probably #1. No longer.

Any ranking that puts Florida schools as number #1, is not worth the paper/electronic it's written on.

So then you discount all of USNWR's rankings? Like their college rankings, which are widely used here on DCUM?
USNews ranking of colleges is flawed but their High schools ranking is worthless
Sounds like sour grapes.
If US News didn’t exist, people would still say TJ, Langley, and McLean are the top three high schools in the state.

As has been stated above, many Langley kids don't bother with the IG college page. And yet, their *actual* college outcomes are every bit as good, if not better. So weird to tout student-reported IG pages as some kind of "source."
DP. If Langley results this year were better, the kids would be posting. It’s not a community that’s either shy or modest.
Look, I don't know what to tell you. You have your usual axe to grind about Langley, that's nothing new. Some kids posted their college destinations to IG, but most didn't. How do I know that? Because I saw the end of year college destinations Saxon Scope. Excellent schools, as usual. You can move along and troll elsewhere.

Yes. US News rankings are built on flawed methodology. Admittedly there is no perfect ranking system, but US News is essentially meaningless. It's embarrassing that even FCPS posted a US News ranking article on their website bragging about some of their top HS rankings like Langley and McLean while at the same time owning some schools at the bottom of the list like Mt. Vernon. It's a farce.
