Did she go to school far away from home? Did you help her find a provider?

2 of my DD friends that went to a 4 year school will be having a baby by the end of the year... How common is it?
Uncommon and rare in my DD's group of friends. I have not even heard of one case. Come to think of it, I have not even heard of one person in their HS or college having a baby or being pregnant! Who is your DD hanging out with? What SES, what race, what religion, what state?

Their bodies will snap back in no time and they’ll have lots of energy to be involved in their kids’ lives through most of it
Except they will be single moms unless they give the babies up for adoption. College boys aren't known to step up too often, and the girls have now ruined most of their dating chances with educated guys by having a child so young.
eh - it’s 2023, the “single mom” penalty is greatly diminished if you are pretty, in shape, educated, under 30 and come from a well off family.
The “mom” penalty in dating isn’t due to being a mom in 2023 given the demographics of the country — it’s because of other things
In a weird way — the people who would benefit most from being young moms would be umc women who get into t30s/40s —
They show the signal of intelligence but also have massive familial support.

I would have taken that to my grave, whether I were the male or female in the story. Who needs to know what happened so young? Political litmus test?
Anonymous wrote:You can thank legalized abortion and contraceptive availability for the rarity. All that is at risk right now with the Republicans. Sad to know there will be many young women and their families along with young men and their families faced with the consequences of unwanted pregnancies.
Anonymous wrote:They've got to be pretty dumb, in this day and age, to get pregnant. Imo. given birth control options. And yes BC can (so, so rarely) fail, so that is why you use more than one method.
