Not sure what coverage you did or didn't watch, but Tina Turner's death has been given huge coverage. In fact there was a whole series of articles, new one and older ones being re-run, in the Post to mark her death. Lead story on national TV newscasts. Tributes for days, including some coming up this weekend on TV from what I'm seeing advertised. Social media posts by every celebrity you can think of. What other attention is missing? Asking seriously. I loved her music and her life story of strength, and I do think her death was given due attention.

I’m not much of a football fan. Even less of a Redskins fan but there was something about Sean Taylor’s death that got me. RIP to him.

Princess Di and JFK, Jr. each died while I was home from college and I remember watching coverage for hours with my mom. They were such pop culture icons in the 90s. More recently the deaths of Luke Perry and Bob Saget really hit me hard. BH 90210 was on during my MS, HS and college years and it was a shock for someone roughly in my age range that was a part of my growing up to pass so suddenly. My dad passed a month before Saget and having America’s Dad (to us children of the late 80s and 90s) pass a month later was so sad.

Native Minnesotan, so Prince of course hit hard.

Cobain in my teens was a shock.

I’m repeating what’s already been said but:

Philip Seymour Hoffman, mostly because I had the chance to meet him and he was genuinely one of the nicest people. And so talented.

Huge Prince fan here! I saw him live at the Warner Theater in those 2 surprise shows he did pretty close to when he died. I wish he was still here … no one comes close to him.

Aaliyah was an icon for me in my teens.. the way she died was shocking. I still remember it every year and how eerie it was because it was a few weeks before 9/11.

Someone mentioned Paul Walker - that too. He was my celebrity crush in college and I watched all his terrible movies hundreds of times 😝

As a teen, I got to spend an afternoon at WJLA and watch the newscast. As you would expect, he was cracking people up when the cameras were off. 💜

I cried my eyes out on the city bus over Robin Williams. His performance in The Birdcage was a touchstone of my childhood (grew up with a trans parent).
