I am still waiting for the mass exodus of 2016...
I’ve become a dual citizen since 2016. I also know 4 US citizens who used to live in the DMV that retired to Europe since 2016.
+1 I know someone who finally got Australian permanent residentship and another who applied for Portuguese golden visa before the program ended. Quips of crossing borders aside, leaving to another country takes time, and people have been making moves since the 45 presidency.
This. We filed the papers to get my husband and our daughter dual EU citizenship during the Trump administration but since we were insulated from the worst he could do (pre-Roe) didn’t investigate actually moving.
For all of you so happily telling us to go, you realize we still get to vote right?
So you hate the US, but want to retain the priviledges via dual citizenship????? You're a selfish, entitled snob. You are no different than Trump.
Hate? No.
Allow my daughter to die from medical neglect because of the insane laws supported by the likes of you? Also no.

It doesn't mean that we hate America, but the current state of this country is alarming and becoming unsafe for future generations
+1 Being wealthy no longer insulates you from death in child birth if you can't get a sudden abortion due to religious zealots. If the doctor's hands are tied the doctor's hands are tied. Better to get the girl children out.
You're saying that money should insulate you from death????? OMG.
Listen run off to Russia, or China, or whatever country you where you think you can live out your utopian fantasy. But don't use your US citizenship to bail you out if things don't turn out the way you want abroad. Stay and be a part of the solution. And don't give the lame excuse of "I can vote abroad" and do something. Unless you're here, you have no idea what is needed. By leaving you are essentially promoting the bad guys.

DP republicans are saying they want to imprison anyone who disagrees with the one in power. They also say they will not recognize an election their candidate lost. Only sheep would think this is okay and not plan an exist strategy.
Or you know you could actually stay and do something about it rather than run. Typical UMC caring only for their assets rather than doing what needs to be done. You should relinquish your citizenship unless you tend to get dirty and fight for what's right. Talk about sheep! You're conceding defeat to Trump. But sure, run away, little lamb.
I feel like you can’t read properly. Having dual citizenship doesn’t mean departing, it means having the option to do so. It means my daughter is a short flight from a country where abortion is legal and safe even if the next iteration of Republican insanity is a domestic travel ban.
Basically, you're saying that when things get tough you're not going to stand up and do the right thing. You have your bags packed to leave. You're going to take your ball and go (to your new) home. Don't worry about the little people you've left behind. Bye, Donnie!

You only think you're protecting your female children. What you're really doing is ceding ground to the very people you oppose.
