It's interesting because Mady, Cara, and the two girl sextuplets that stayed with Kate did a live not too long ago and said that the public shouldn't believe what they heard about the cause of the rift. This was shortly after Collin did that interview. They didn't elaborate but did say that no, the "Kate kids" do not interact with the "Jon kids" and vice versa. Jon doesn't see any of the kids who live with Kate. Kate doesn't see the kids that live with Jon either.
Terribly sad. All Mady would say is that there are things the public will never know for the reasons for what went down.
So, basically, this is either a textbook example of parental poisoning and what happens when a select group stops believing the poisoning lies, OR something majorly nefarious went down that caused Kate to expel Collin and then later Hannah.
It was clearly Kate who expelled Collin but from what I've read it was Hannah's decision to move in with Jon. Kate didn't "expel" Hannah, it actually seemed to be more of Hannah expelling Kate, although Hannah has indicated that she and Kate are not totally estranged. Also, Kate showed up at H & C's high school graduation in PA, but only interacted with Hannah.
Collin was only 12 when Kate sent him away- what the heck could be so nefarious that a 12 year old could do for his mother to 'expel' him? In a loving family, I can't think of anything. I have a 12 year old, and even if they did something truly truly horrible, I would still maintain contact! Maybe at a distance, but cutting my own flesh and blood off entirely, especially at age TWELVE, just doesn't compute. I'm thinking of something like murder...but if Collin truly did do something that horrible, you'd think that would have gotten out to the media, no?
Long way of saying...I don't think anything majorly nefarious went down, I think Kate is just a narcissist and Collin wasn't afraid to call her out on her BS and that is just not ok in Kate's world. So he had to be gone. Just like Aunt Jodi and her husband, just like Beth Carson, just like her parents...
I don’t know what happened in their family, clearly there is a lot of dysfunction there. However, there are things that a young child can do that can make it unsafe to maintain a relationship with them, this happened with my nephew. He had to be institutionalized at @ age 12 because he was psychopathic, he killed the family cat, abused both his siblings and attempted to harm every member of his family. While my sister and her husband did attempt to maintain a relationship with him once the extent of his terrible issues came to light they really couldn’t any longer and it was a heartbreaking situation.

I wonder that, too. Mady was asked about him in a TikTok live, and responded only with something along the lines of “people with different values grow apart, sometimes people have incompatible values, just because people are related doesn’t mean they will like each other”
She did a live with Hannah, and interestingly they said they have never been estranged and talk every day.
This sounds like Mady is repeating what she heard Kate say. Colin got sent away when he was very young, what different values would he have?
He committed the cardinal sin of crossing Kate.
I think it's that simple.
agree. and he probably reminded her too much of her ex husband. shame on Collin for existing and looking just like his dad!

I saw a leaked tax return that said they made over $1 million in 2008. They should all have plenty of money for college and then some. A forensic accountant needs to go through the financials since the beginning of the show to see where all of that money went.
We know where the money went. Kate used it to live on and pay for their private schools and her security.
I can't believe that I'm defending Kate Gosselin, but do you remember what the frenzy and paparazzi situation surrounding both Kate and Jon Gosselin was like around the time of their divorce? With Jon going on yachts with that French designer who made those hideous tattoo shirts? It was totally bonkers. I can't blame her for putting the kids in private school during that time and for having to pay for security.

Wow! Good for her.

They should not be allowed to do this.
Why? They are both adults- recently turned 19.
