We can do with out all the uninsured terrible drivers with fake or fraudulent IDs.
And the hit and run culture in silver spring and Georgia Ave.
so sick of seeing some beaten up car rear end someone and all 4-5 ppl run out and ever return. Can’t prove who was driving - hahaha- just like in Guatemala. You literally run and desert your car.
I live in Silver Spring, off of Georgia and this is so true.
I’ve lived in Silver Spring off of Georgia Ave my entire life and have literally never witnessed such a thing. Do you have any evidence or stats?
Go talk to any police station or do some MoCo jury duty.
You have zero evidence whatsoever to back up your BS claim. You are just making biased assumptions and then repeating over and over without any proof or logic. You can’t measure bit and runs by looking at people in a police station or sitting on a single jury once every five years.
I did grand jury duty in rockville.
The police force did an 30 min presentation on crime trends and issues beforehand.
Then after 10-12 sessions the demographic trends and crime issues in MoCo were crystal clear to anyone.
Court is open. Go sit there and learn.
Mass media and local media doesn’t have the cajones to report the facts and truth. About how is living how in this county.

Just “asking for asylum” doesn’t count.
Any help these families receive is from volunteers or local groups.
Pay attention. Check out the goodies you get once you claim asylum and get in that queue.
Whilst being allowed to live and work here, and remit money back to the terrible cruel homeland where you are funding new homes and paying for religious school for all your siblings children.
My neighbors are undocumented immigrants. They have been back to their home country of Guatemala multiple times. It must not be THAT bad if they can go back to visit on a regular basis.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:No. Immigrants, for better or for worse, are usually too prideful for that. They’ll take any work they can get.
Immigrants also have lower rates of substance abuse and drug use (Which often are the trigger event for homelessness), even after controlling for every other factor.

Think there’s a connection?
You mean unskilled, uneducated, illiterate illegal aliens from Central America?
I thought they all went to sanctuary city MoCo and CASA de Maryland for their welcome package, free housing and stuff. Send them there, not WDC.
They are not getting "free housing and stuff."
Yeah, they are.
DC is not MoCo or CASA and temporary shelter is not “free housing” and a non profit helping people is more American than putting people in jail for immigrating.
Are the DC homeless afforded the same opportunity.... hotel housing?
Don't be silly. They prefer to live in tents at Union Station and under bridges.
This boils my blood in particular. Do those in charge have any idea what a liability that is to DC tourism?

Um, yea they are. They can and many receive Medicaid, free breakfast and lunch, emergency disaster relief assistance, homeless sheltering, free schooling, free mental health counseling, WIC, soup kitchens, substance abuse assistance, and more.
Swing by an eastern MCPS school for any free breakfast lunch and weekend grocery bag you want.
Come early, come often.
There are free dentist days too, check it out. Flyers in Spanish, plus apps and text alerts for your smartphone.

If they are not paying for this housing, whether temporary or permanent, it is free to them but not to thee. And once you give people this free temporary housing it becomes damn near permanent because you can’t get them out.

Stuff- yes - tons of new and used welcome packages from big NGOs and church groups here
Housing - kind of- they just stuff in a house with 3+ “cousins” per room and use one of the pick up trucks parked on the lawn.
Health care- just show up at any ER room or HOly cross hospital, they have low prices and fantastic financing plans
Anchor baby - get them to the silver spring SSA office asap for their benefits, snap, welfare. No reported income means mo benies.
Status- once you say your cousin was killed and the gang is after you too, you get a 3-5 year USA Asylum Pending Case Welcome Package. You get a work ID - put whatever name or birthday on it, welfare benefits, and leave a great address where ICE can send you your court date in a few years. You can show up or not; most don’t.
Lastly, make sure once your anchor baby is age 18 they quickly sponsor you for a green card- only if you didn’t already marry someone with one or citizenship.
Voila!
Yep. These homes have taken over our neighborhood in Montgomery County. What used to be a solidly middle class neighborhood is now filled with multi-family housing that is not up to code and not being rented out legally. So, a home that might have had one family in it, with 2 or 3 kids, now has 7 kids. And, multiple work vans and pick up trucks parked on the lawn. Definitely has resulted in changes in our neighborhood and others around the county in Wheaton, Silver Spring, Germantown, Gaithersburg, Aspen Hill, even up in Olney.
