We all pay the same property tax rate.
McLean pays more in taxes dimwit. It has higher home values.
Still the same rate, as others have said.
Don't tie property taxes to home values if you want to make it equal
OMG. I recognize you from the old Credence Clearwater Revival song Fortunate Son!
Some folks are born silver spoon in hand
Lord, don't they help themselves, Lord?
But when the taxman come to the door
Lord, the house lookin' like a rummage sale, yeah
Percentage based taxes are fair. And let’s not forget that the big McMansions are less environmentally friendly. They produce more runoff, make areas more prone to flooding/water pooling, etc. I swear, some monied DCUMers must come from some very corrupt communities.

Obviously people in a $2M house pay more in taxes than people in a $500k house. They are in fact paying more to live in that school zone.

Should this be the priority over all else? I mean cooper and langley are / have gotten major renovations and expansions ?
Mclean high looks like a 3rd work slum school

Actually Fairfax County has some areas that have addtional taxes that others do not. These include transportation zones and Mclean and Reston get whacked on community centers. Reston got it to fund a county floated construction bond that was paid off in maybe 1999. No regionally local charges for Mount Vernon HS converson, Laurel Hill etc.
Herndon and Vienna have town taxes. Reston and Mclean are not towns. https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/taxes/real-estate/tax-rates
Some areas of the county have much nicer amenities that other parts, and they have taxing zones to cover those amenities. I'm sure people in the southern part of the county would be fine with the yellow line extending south instead of the silver line west.
Not really as the metro is an DC crime expressway
you are a racist troll

Just stop it. It’s a losing argument with the effect, and possibly the intent, to antagonize.
McLean hasn’t been asking for preferential treatment based on the tax bills of its residents. It’s been asking to be treated as well as other schools that are neither as old nor as crowded.
Pay more they should get more
How is it they pay more? They pay the same rates.
