DD thought her and her friends were specifically being punished and it wasn’t like that at all. She is still really good friends with the owner of the lunchbox, they enjoy going to each other’s houses and swimming at the pool. A lot of people on DCUM jumped and said my DD has a “pattern of stealing” and that “I’m raising a bully” but her latest report card praised her for being encouraging, kind, and inclusive. Never change, DCUM.
Haha, great update! And didn’t you know…childhood isn’t a time to learn, make mistakes and grow from failures…it’s a time to be perfect and never get in trouble! Thanks for the hot tips, DCUM!

Fifth grade was a nightmare this year when it came to lunch especially. The monitors were vindictive and over reactive in a way that would honestly be hilarious if it were an SNL sketch and not real life. Every parent I talked to had stories and I also have friends who work at the school so I know it wasn’t just my kid complaining. I don’t know what the hell was going on but it was like a switch flipped the second fifth grade started and everyone was getting “written up” for utterly minor things, like speaking to someone who was at a different lunch table. Bananas. My kid was stressed half the year…because of lunch. What a waste of time!
