My mom was 24 when she married my 41 year- old dad. Not my cup of tea, but six years is not an issue OP. Do you not like him for some other reason? Boys mature much slower than girls.

I met my husband when I was 27 and 33. It feels like a good age gap. I think finding a guy a few years older who wants marriage/family is a good way to avoid having your most fertile years wasted. I knew I wanted to start having kids by 30 so I could have at least 3 and I did.

A good friend met and dated a grad student at UMD when she was an undergrad. Her parents were not necessarily thrilled. But they got married when she graduated and he then worked and supported her while she went to grad school. They have been married over 30 years. It can work. Totally depends on the two people involved and their ability to support each other's dreams, compromise, and build dreams together---like any successful relationship.

These programs can be 50% Intl students and young Americans who never worked or lived anywhere but a dorm or home will be an easy mark.
