Is this guy even real? His whole campaign has felt surreal. He seems more like a MAGA Republican, concocting his whole campaign - including his "resume" and his excuses - from the Trump and Trump sycophants playbook.
If ACDC really did convince him not to quit, then there must be a faction that is working against Miranda. I can see no other reason to bother with this manufactured candidate.
Nah I think AC/DC just doesn’t like perception of having someone walk into office without a real contest. No one is going to vote for this guy.
AC/DC is probably also worried about going through the time and expense of holding the caucus with only one person on the ballot.
They would just cancel the caucus. They don't need one when there's only one candidate.
They've combined it with the primary in the past; they can cancel it if they want to.
They can’t just cancel the caucus unless they change the bylaws.

Back into staying in. He has a lot of bravado but he’s going to look foolish the forums based on what he posted on aem and the statement in ArlNow. Will there be a caucus even if he drops out?

Angelo also dismissed some questions on AEM. The answers and responses he did provide reak of "politician" and not of someone passionate - or even knowledgeable - about APS issues.
so that's not cherry picking but me pointing out Miranda's evasive answer on where her kids go to school is?
are you really ok with her saying she's a Drew parent when NONE of her kids go to Drew???
I find it rather creepy that she is on the PTA of a school that none of her kids attend. I would feel weird about any adult who did the same.
Would you rather the PTA go without needed leadership and support? Because that's why Miranda has continued to be involved with Drew PTA even after her kids in Montessori left because Montessori moved out of the building. Drew PTA didn't have the people they needed step up! So it's creepy that someone who lives in the neighborhood wants to support the neighborhood school whether they have kids in the school or not? Would you find it creepy for an adult who moved to the neighborhood but doesn't have kids or whose kids attended school in their previous home location to care about their surrounding community and join the neighborhood school's PTA? Especially if it's a school that has traditionally struggled to solicit strong PTA participation?
Relax. Drew can recruit their own volunteers, just like other PTAs in Arlington. They don't need help from a well intentioned white woman whose kids don't even go to their school.
I don't know if it's creepy, but it's definitely weird that Miranda is seen as such a savior of Drew.
You are so right!! And Bethany was so creepy keeping that food bank at Randolph open even after her kids aged out of elementary school! Shame on those well-intentioned white women!
At least Bethany's kids actually went to Randolph.
Unlike Miranda with Drew.
And Bethany was PTA president of Randolph I think.
Has Miranda actually LED anything????
Good question.
People keep saying she's more qualified than Angelo but how exactly? Just because she ran and lost so she has name recognition? That's not the same as being experienced or qualified.
I can't believe this is even a question. Angelo is barely qualified to be my kids' Cub Scout leader, let alone make decisions across the board for APS.
yeah but no one can answer the question about Miranda. other board members were pta presidents or something like that. what qualifies HER?
I don’t think there’s an answer you would accept, so I’m just going to point out there are only two options and the other one is Angelo.
