I don’t agree with a PP who asserts that lots of other privates offer lots of services. That is just incorrect. Lab, yes. McLean, yes. Holton, no. Potomac, no. Basically schools that are special needs schools provide a lot. Other schools don’t. They just offer extra time in tests, maybe some AV adjustments. But that is it. So whether SAES is a good fit or not, who knows but for families looking for lots of support, if you don’t specifically ask about a specific type of support and get a clear affirmative answer, then no, you shouldn’t expect it.

I also find you disingenuous, but hope I am misreading the situation.

I would bet that none of the previous posters were current parent.

If you want to find the culture of the school, you will not find it on DCUM. DCUM attracts a very different element.

If that poster's understanding was SAES is a welcoming community, it is nothing short of bizarre to then disregard that common knowledge based on a couple anonymous (and potentially unaffiliated) posters on a message board. FWIW, St. Andrew's is DC's number one choice so we attended multiple school events to gauge the community. I can say that hands downnnnnnn, the parents were the friendliest we encountered - in real life. Very warm, approachable and personable. We aren't there yet, but look forward to enrolling.

I'm not the previous poster who you say needs therapy.

But I do think this is an important window into St. Andrew's. The admissions office makes big promises to whole families about how they can teach their kids. But the reality can be quite different. In our experience, the teachers were a mixed bag, and there isn't a lot of learning support, as there is at most other area private schools that have this kind of tuition.

If you question what's going on or raise concerns about a teacher, you need mental help, you're a troll, etc. The message is only slightly nicer in real life.
