For me, too. I’ve never felt this way about a place before, but I get this feeling that something is very wrong or off with Cumberland, kind of a place in a Stephen King novel.

The Dollar Store in Bridgeville DE. Stopped to stretch our legs during the ride back fro the Delaware beaches…my kids started to race through the isles and I panicked. Had to leave immediately…super strange vibes.

The repurposed grounds of the old Crownsville, Maryland Mental Hospital. Oddly enough we played some travel soccer games there. Creepy and sad. A very uncomfortable environment. I believe they filmed the horror movie Crazy Eights there.

I was there on a day when it was fairly busy with school groups, but found myself alone in the area with the former crematorium. It felt like there was a presence.

I couldn't make it through all of the buildings. Poster #1 said it best....a heavy, heavy weight on your body and emotions.

+1 the Copper Queen Hotel in Bisbee. That whole area of Arizona is creepy.

Ok, this is weird. I'm casting a 3rd vote for Jerome, AZ. We only stopped there because it's DH's first name, and we left soon after because we were so creeped out. He wouldn't even have his picture taken next to the "Jerome" sign. He just said, "let's get the hell out of here."

I didn't feel this vibe at all when I was there. Now you all are making me want to go back!

NP here who didn't get any kind of creepy vibe in Jerome. I've been there a couple of times and on both occasions thought it was a cool place to visit. In fact, I often recommend Jerome to people I know who are visiting the Sedona area.

Then again, I can't really think of any places I have visited where I have felt a creepy vibe, so perhaps I'm not very susceptible to this kind of thing. I have visited places I have found to be depressing, but I think that's different. I didn't find Jerome depressing.

So I am glad someone else pointed this out. I decided to explore Glen Echo and sat on a few benches. I experienced a very odd feeling. Like I didn't belong. It had nothing to do with the workers or the visitors. Just a sensation. I decided to walk around and read a little more about the history. Low and behold, people of color were not permitted until very recently. It was definitely a "Get Out" energy that came over me and I decided that we should leave. Up until that point, I thought it was a quaint place to relax with the kids.

Stayed at a BnB on Tybee island once that was said to be haunted. I never saw anything but had the weirdest dreams there.

Do you mean the original Jamestown or the reproduction?

We went to the original location on a similar day (not cold but dreary and windy) when there were few people at all, and it was definitely desolate. I’m sure things have changed but it made me wonder what was so appealing about the location. It seemed so removed removed and barren. I still loved the visit having never been there as a child growing up in Virginia.
