Are leftist politicians afraid to refer to something as a robbery now? Very odd for a local politician to stay silent on organized shoplifting when it's businesses that cough up campaign contributions.
These people are not robbing anyone. They are liberating assets produced under a system of oppression. Some are also in crisis and they need more services and chargeless housing. The current Council understands this and is finally moving this city to a more equitable footing.

No business? It’s literally in our constitution that congress can “exercise exclusive legislation in all cases whatsoever” over DC. As a 30 year DC resident I hope Congress overturns the criminal code rewrite and voting rights bill for noncitizens.
+1. The irony is that the entire reason for DC’s economic prosperity is that we are the Federal city and uniquely empowered to benefit from Federal government activity and the physical presence of Congress and the executive branch, but nobody wants to admit that this properly comes with a unique governance structure, as clearly outlined in the Constitution. No Congress, no Federal city, this town is Baltimore and all the people whining about home rule would immediately move someplace else for their activist/lobbyist/GS-14 jobs

I’m not sure there’s a way to improve the Council. By all means let’s try but I’d prefer to get rid of the Council altogether
