Madonna was great, but she is holding onto "it" the wrong way. No suggestions here.

I heard Madonna made fans wait for 2.5 hours at her last DC area show and throughout that tour, for her to arrive onstage. NOT cool.


Yes Madonna did make us wait 2.5 hours. The show itself was great but by the time it was over the metro had closed and it was a disaster for people

Coolest - I saw Alman Brothers with Cher! At time Greg Allan married to Cher. She did Rambling Man and a few of her hits.

Paul Simon benefit concert at his own house on Montauk NY

U2 in a dive bar at happy hour. Like 50 of us.

Naughty by Nature invited me up to do OPP with them

Plazmatics - wild - they blew an actual car up on stage. They literally do to junk yard haul a car on stage and put dynamite in it. They got in so much trouble

Go Gos first big concert me and Jane Wyman the drummer had an arguement she hit me with her drum stick.

I still go to many concerts, but you sound very 😎 I like your taste in music!

Gina Schock was the Go-Gos drummer.
Jane Wiedlin played guitar.
Jane Wyman was an actress and ex-wife of Ronald Reagan.


Considering it was 1981 and I was high my memory is shot. But I know Remember I was at the concert at Stonybrook in a haze of pot smoke I rhymed Hyman with Wiedlin. Jane was right on my side and I was attempting to hook up during show. Gina got pissed at me and whipped a drum stick at my head. Was one of their first shows they were the main act.

I saw him years ago (seriously, 20+) and it was an awesome show at Merriweather. So I wouldn't take one person's opinion on DCUM as gospel. What do they mean by years ago? What was awful?

For example - it could be the specific tour set up, or the lineup of songs was heavily skewed in a specific direction, or his voice wasn't great, or it wasn't dynamic enough, or maybe the seats were bad - how to know? Also he's John Mellencamp and has been for about 20 years so I wonder if this person saw him a really long time ago? As for me, my then fiancee, now husband, saw him a week or so before our wedding, we didn't have tickets and were planning to scalp or just buy at box office, someone in the parking lot offered us tix for $5, it was one of the last fun things we did just us before wedding craziness really took hold, the night was great, the weather was gorgeous, he played a fun danceable mix, his new stuff was good....it was a great night.

Of course he can’t sing the way he did when he was 25. He’s 80.

However, he still puts on an incredible 3.5 hour show. Worth every penny.

This is helpful especially when you can’t go to a show and then read the performance was not great. I wasn’t able to see McCartney when he was in Baltimore. Though he is still a legend, I heard he didn’t sing as before. It somehow makes it better when you can’t touch the exorbitant priced seats, even the ones way up in the clouds.

The 13 Baker's Dozen shows never repeated a song, either. They're scary smart composers, but don't take themselves seriously. It's unfortunate that our attention spans for music have shortened due to mainstream music. I think that's a lot of why people don't "get" Phish.

I did see them right before the hiatus where Trey went to rehab and that was a mess, but every other show has been brilliant. One of my favorite Phish-adjacent moments is the Colorado Symphony playing Guyute and the crowd being so moved during the crescendo that people started cheering.


Trey certainly takes himself VERY seriously. He probably deserves to, but come on.


They are serious musicians for sure, but one of the reaons Fishman wears that get up is a reminder that he's a millionaire many times over as a drummer. That's an acknowledgment of not taking themselves seriously, but even past 55, he's practicing 6-8 hours a day,

And those guys are STILL recording/creating a lot of new content. Trey and Tom just had a writing session two weeks ago.

I was at NYE, amazing time celebrating their 40 years together.

I’ve seen him twice. The first time he was great - had a lot of energy and just seemed really into the show. My friend commented at the time how lucky we were to catch a show like that from him. The second time was the exact opposite. It was like he was doing everyone a favor by being there and you could tell he was surly about it.

But the concert where he was on was so, so good.


A friend of mine was at a VM concert when a woman collapsed near the front of the stage. Apparently when the helicopter landed in the middle of the crowd to get her, VM's toupee flew off his head.
