That I'm just not a 'food' person. I like what I like and I don't like what I don't like. I am always simply happy to be wherever I am with the people I am with and yes, I'd literally be happy with a bowl of rice.

That because my parents came from one Asian country 70 years ago, that I am still American. I do not need to know about the best sushi or pho restaurant you visited or that you like your Chinese dry cleaner. I don't need to know that a Korean family was kind to you when you had your baby and that your child has the best Filipino teacher. I am an American. I speak English well because it is my native and first language and the one I have been speaking for over 50 years. You don't have to speak lower or louder to me because I have Asian features.

It's chit chat. I would be interested in all those topics. Just not getting spoken slower and louder too... though that may change as I age!

So annoying! Educate yourself before asking something so ridiculous.
I am not protein deficient now nor have I ever been in the 7 years that I have been eating WFPB. In fact, I can actually strength train and grow my muscles substantially(mind-blown).

If you called yourself a vegetarian instead of “WFPB” people may understand better.

PP. But I'm NOT vegetarian. I don't eat dairy or eggs. Whole Food Plant Based is the only way to describe how I eat.

they all have a degenerative eye condition where they're losing their central vision. It sucks. And no one can see that they're actually disabled.

I am so very sorry. My wife has a degenerative eye condition. She has had 18 eye surgeries in the last 19 years including multiple transplants and the associated medication hell that comes with being a transplant patient. After all those years her vision is poor but stable. And we are just grateful for stable.

The world does not really understand low vision issues that cannot be fixed with glasses. And most people do not understand all the challenges that go with it. I hear you, I understand and give you all the empathy I can over an anonymous forum.

Same. They gave me near daily chronic migraines. If 1 more person gaslights me, while I'm migraine-ing, and says "correlation doesn't equal causation" I'm going to lose it. It's the most obnoxious thing to tell somebody experiencing a chronic reaction that it's all in their head or coincidence. They don't know my medical history, or my parents. It's between me and my doctors. People can have reactions to food, beverages, detergent, antibiotics, pollen, smells, it's life. Get real.

An appropriate response to this is "and a maxim doesn't show intelligence." Let them stew on that one.

I feel you so much on this, even though I’m an adult. I may have the same genetic condition as your kids. I’m so sorry for them.

It is frustrating to explain to people that I can’t just treat my vision loss with glasses or Lasik. It is literally not correctable or treatable. I know people don’t understand, but it gets really old.

That organic milk from the grocery store does not last longer "because it's fresher". It lasts longer since it's been heated to a higher temp to MAKE it last longer. That's it.

Anonymous wrote:“Liberal” and “leftist” are different things, only American liberals call themselves that. Being further to the left on economic issues is not the same as being “more liberal.”

Liberal is best used to describe permissiveness on social issues, and in the rest of the world, it refers to free market economics or neoliberalism. I’m cool with social progressives and Democrats who are pro LGBTQ and abortion being called “liberals,” but I can’t stand it when AOC, Bernie, Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar are called “more liberal” when referring to their economic policies.

I associate with a lot of leftists. They hate “liberals.”

OK, now I'm even more confused...

Actually we don't need you to explain anything. Don't talk about your diet or restrictions or meal plan.

Thank you very much.

So stop asking!!

JFC, I am a former vegetarian and people asked me about it all. the. time.

I’m sorry. 3/4 of my family is boosted and fine, but the last person experienced very lasting and real side effects of the first two and won’t do any more. I understand you.
