Everyone assumes that Bowser will go on to a cushy federal appointment or whatnot. Let's consider another scenario. City Paper reported that the FBI and DOJ are investigating former deputy mayor John Falciccio and his deputies concerning DC's transactions with developers, among other things. Falciccio was the mayor's point man for development, real estate deals, planning & zoning, etc. If this investigation broadens, it's not inconceivable that Bowser could be drawn in as well.

Where does she go from here?
Anything else other than mayor would be great. But since she can't rise any higher in the ranks (congresswoman, senator) DC mayor is the best gig she can get. We're stuck with her for a while.
She'll serve out her term and then announce she's not running again. After laying low for a while she will join a K Street lobbying firm making seven figures, and her kid will suddenly leave her dcps school for a pricy private.
Every sitting DC Council member under the age of 70 will run to succeed her. Charles Allen will spent millions to finish 5th in the primary. Brianne Nadeau will finish behind Trayon.
But who will win? That's the question. For all the hate aimed at Bowser, I'd rather have her for another term than any of the contenders mentioned.
I would rather have her for mayor again too over any of the council, but if Kenyon McDuffie runs, I think he could succeed her and I think she would support him.
McDuffie likely wins and things continue their odd luxury housing + high crime combo, making the city simultaneously hard to afford and full of cookie-cutter plastic bars/restaurants yet rife with crime.
We need someone competent enough to look outside their inner circle for smart people. Bowser's recent appointments and nominations have shown that her well ran dry a long, long time ago.
You don’t think McDuffie will be tough on crime? He wanted to be the AG.

Can't the Biden Admin make Bowser a Deputy Assistant Secretary of HUD for Community Outreach, Forms and Paperclips, where she can do minimal harm?

I think it must be true. Because, for example, I know Brianne NoDo can’t wait to it lunch but it’s not a feeling, just simple math.
Amy Klobuchar’s comb! Those were the days, when the the only people fearing for their lives worked in Amy’s office. Bowser made it equal opportunity for all
