The main problems here are not the message but the fact that he’s on Twitter in the first place. He should know better. Twitter not for executives, he should have people doing it for him. Twitter is for legislators trying to get exposure. Second, as Governor of Maryland he should be 100% focused on the state of Maryland. If it has nothing to do with Maryland then he shouldn’t be talking about it. This is not the worst misstep that he can make out the gate and he’ll learn.
