Democrats are fired up right now, and other than deep maga followers, many republicans were turned off by Musk, tariffs, and now the security breach. Probably not upset enough to vote for a democrat, but enough to not show up to vote in a special election.

+1. Rs have a lot of old white men in Congress, and are a couple heart attacks or another fall by McConnell away from losing their majority.

Unfortunately the Kentucky legislature has made sure that Beshear couldn't replace McConnell with a Democrat. On the other hand, Bernie Sanders is the same age as McConnell and has a Republican governor...

New England Republicans are different than elsewhere in the country. MA has also had GOP Governors recently.

Vermont's Governor Scott does not want to piss off his very blue electorate.

Johnson has been floating rumors that Stefanik denies that she wants to run for Governor.

We could just hire someone to “bump them” and help it along the way.

Already on it!

How about you let time take them?

Been then done that. None of them were wise enough to leave on their own early so now other measures must be taken.

Stefanik was offered the job, and given many months to prepare - with the understanding that she would drop 25lbs and get a Mar a Lago makeover. But she didn’t hold up her end of the bargain and that’s why her nomination was pulled.
I guess the House insurance plan doesn’t cover Wegovy.

I feel like they're worried about that several-month window between her resignation and the special election to replace her - they're trying to get their reconciliation package passed quickly and every vote counts.

A Republican internal poll by Trump’s favorite pollster of the race for Waltz’s seat has the Democrat up 3 in a Trump +30 district. The Democrat who’s running for Stefanik’s seat (WHO IS AWESOME, I WENT TO COLLEGE WITH HIS SISTER) could make it close, too.
